According to technology media Windows Latest, Microsoft Copilot is testing a new feature called “Reminders”. Currently, this feature is being pushed to all mobile users, and only partial support is provided on the web.

It is worth mentioning that Microsoft is very friendly in the opening policy of the reminder function this time. Even if users don’t subscribe to Copilot’s $20 monthly paid service, they can still use the reminder function normally because the feature also opens the door to free users. However, users who subscribe to Microsoft 365 Personal Edition will unlock additional reminder function benefits.

For example, users can ask Copilot to remind them to cancel their Microsoft 365 subscription after five minutes, and Copilot will send a reminder notification to the mobile device bound to the application; they can also ask it to remind them to attend important meetings. Copilot can accurately obtain the date and time information of the user's device, and can even trigger a reminder within one minute. However, it should be noted that if the user turns off the notification permission of Copilot in Android or iOS system, the relevant reminder pop-up window will not be displayed.

Microsoft’s statement revealed that the reminder feature has cross-device synchronization features, but reminder notifications will only be sent to mobile devices. At present, it is unclear whether subsequent versions of Windows 11's built-in Copilot will add support for the reminder function. Microsoft clearly stated in the relevant instructions: "To receive reminders, you need to install the Copilot application and enable the application's notification permission."
