xAI releases Grok Imagine 1.0, which can generate 10-second, 720p resolution video

On February 2, Musk forwarded an xAI post saying that Grok Imagine version 1.0 is now fully released. xAI said, "Introducing Grok Imagine 1.0, our biggest leap yet. Version 1.0 unlocks 10-second video, 720p resolution, and greatly improved audio quality. In the past 30 days alone, Imagine has generated 1.245 billion videos."

It is understood that xAI acquired Hotshot, a startup company focusing on AI video generation, in March 2025. The company has developed basic video models such as Hotshot-XL and Hotshot Act One.
