Tesla has notified workers at its Sparks, Nevada, battery plant that starting in early January 2024, some fixed-wage hourly employees will see their wages increase by about 10%. According to internal materials seen by the media and factory workers who were informed of the "cost of living adjustment", Tesla will increase the minimum hourly wage for employees at the factory from $20 to $22 per hour, and the maximum hourly wage from $30.65 to $34.50 per hour, and simplify some levels.

For example, workers in several grades who currently earn between $26.20 and $30.65 per hour will have their hourly wages adjusted to a flat rate of $34.50.

For most hourly workers, the adjustment also means a pay increase of 10% or more, ranging from an increase of $2 to $8.30 per hour.

The raise could help Tesla delay workers' interest in unionizing and push for a collective agreement with Nevada workers. Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the pay increase.
