Early this morning, Blizzard announced that "Overwatch 2" has officially been renamed "Overwatch" (removing the number "2"). As part of the rebranding, it was officially announced that five new heroes will be launched at once on February 11. This is also the largest single-season update in the history of the game. However, among these five heroes,The 3D model of the new Chinese character "Anran" was heavily bombarded by players as soon as it was unveiled.

Many players pointed out that the actual model of "Anran" is very different from the image in previous promotional videos and original paintings. Her jawline was narrowed, her nose tapered, and her eyes were deliberately enlarged. Players believe that this change makes her look extremely similar to Juno and Kiriko, completely losing her unique recognition in the original painting.
Reddit user u/Kontio68 even commented: "This looks like a skin of Kiriko."

This aesthetic trend, nicknamed "Kirikofication" by the community, is causing widespread concern. User u/Any-Where expressed disappointment: "The most frustrating thing is that she looks nothing like the previous art. From her hair to her facial features, she is completely different. It's a completely different character. It's strange that An Ran, a new character who was only shown to us six months ago, has changed beyond recognition so quickly."
Currently, there are extremely loud calls from the community for Blizzard to redo the facial modeling of "An Ran". Some players posted their own modified comparison pictures, restoring An Ran's more angular face shape and wider shoulders, trying to remind Blizzard not to make every new heroine "infant".

Some players even compared this to the "Sonic Movie" incident that year. User u/rilleryeah posted: "If the internet can force a major movie studio to change a protagonist's face, then we can definitely make Overwatch change. Please stop making every new heroine look like a baby."
Although this aesthetic shift continues to be controversial online, there is also a view that such "public face" characters tend to perform better in skin sales.
Blizzard has not yet officially responded to this, and it is still unknown whether the update on February 11 will include model optimization.
