According to reports from the US Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC) and other media on the 7th, nearly 1,000 Google employees signed an open letter condemning the recent actions of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), urging Google to disclose its cooperation with these two agencies and dissociate from them.

CNBC stated that the letter mentioned that American citizens had died during operations carried out by U.S. immigration enforcement officers, saying that "the violence was shocking." The letter mentioned that Google cloud services are used for CBP surveillance activities and immigration-related operating systems used by ICE. CBP also uses Google's generative artificial intelligence technology.
"We strongly oppose Google's cooperation with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, CBP, and ICE." Google employees said, "We believe that our leadership has a moral and political responsibility to disclose all contracts and cooperation with CBP and ICE and disassociate from them."
According to the report, the letter also called on the company to acknowledge that employees face dangers posed by ICE and take steps to protect employees.
