On February 9, Xiaomi’s Legal Department announced the progress of collecting information on special assistance for car owners who have been attacked by cyberattacks: As of February 9, 2,189 people have provided relevant evidence and information, and currently have helped 51 car owners successfully file cases with the court. At the same time, we have recently noticed a number of incidents in which Xiaomi car owners suffered offline malicious damage: 3 Xiaomi car owners’ vehicles suffered malicious damage in public places.

After the incident, Xiaomi's Legal Department responded to the car owner's appeal immediately, dispatched professional lawyers to provide legal assistance, and assisted the public security organs in conducting investigations. Thanks to the efficient handling of the police, the perpetrators of the first two incidents were successfully captured and detained for many days and fined. The car owners were also compensated for their economic losses. The other car-sliding incident was also settled through negotiation, and the car owners' losses were recovered.

Xiaomi's Legal Department stated that the Internet is not a place outside the law, and offline actions need to be conducted in accordance with the law. There are boundaries for speech and behavior.
