According to media reports,The well-known game company Nexon is developing a new game based on Blizzard's classic IP "StarCraft".The report quoted multiple industry sources as saying that Nexon had signed a content development cooperation agreement with Blizzard last year on the "StarCraft" IP, and had completed preliminary preparations such as forming a dedicated team and recruiting key personnel, indicating that the project has entered the active development stage.

According to reports,The project is expected to be in the form of a shooting game, rather than a traditional real-time strategy game in the series, and may be led by Nexon's internal Shooter Headquarters, which is responsible for games such as "Assault Storm".

A noteworthy signal is that the project has recruited Choi Jun-ho, the creator of the extremely popular custom map "Temple Siege" in the first generation of "StarCraft", as the planning leader. This may mean that the new work will inherit the essence of the IP while reinterpreting it beyond the RTS framework.
However, the project is still undergoing internal reviews such as prototype development and commercial feasibility assessment. Nexon officials have not commented, and it is still uncertain whether it will eventually be launched.
