A few days ago, MiHoYo's Legal Department officially issued a stern statement stating that MiHoYo has filed a complaint with the Shanghai Xuhui District Justice Bureau regarding relevant illegal acts committed by Zhou Kaichang, a member of the management committee and senior partner of Shanghai Huiye Law Firm. at the same time,MiHoYo terminates all cooperative relationships with Shanghai Huiye Law Firm.
On the evening of the 11th, Shanghai Huiye Law Firm issued a statement, saying that a certain incident recently triggered a large number of discussions on the Internet, causing some trouble to our clients, and deeply apologized for this.
Huiye said that Shanghai MiHoYo Film Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MiHoYo Company") and Yuanjing Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yuanjing Company") are both our legal service clients, and two independent teams provide legal services in different fields.
Neither our firm nor our lawyers represented either party involved in the case. Lawyer Zhou Kaichang and his team have not provided legal services to MiHoYo Company, and have no contact with or master any of MiHoYo Company’s business secrets.
Lawyer Zhou Kaichang was entrusted by Vision Company,Assign intern lawyers to collect some relevant information requested by clients through public channels, including inquiring about corporate information disclosure and applying to notary agencies for evidence preservation and notarization.We sincerely apologize for the incident that caused the complaint to MiHoYo.
The judicial administrative department believes that lawyer Zhou Kaichang’s behavior of assigning intern lawyers to collect and organize evidence does not fall within the scope of services agreed in the perennial legal advisory contract.Suspected of constituting "accepting entrustment privately" as stipulated in Article 40, Item 1 of the Lawyers Law, an administrative penalty decision was issued to lawyer Zhou Kaichang with a warning.
Considering the impact of this incident, lawyer Zhou Kaichang's management committee members have been suspended from all work.
