Xiaohongshushu Butler issued an announcement calling on site users to proactively identify AI-generated synthetic content. Xiaohongshu announced, "Recently, the platform has received multiple reports from users who use AI-generated synthesis technology to imitate the images of public figures and create false videos. Such content produced without their authorization infringes upon the legitimate rights and interests of public figures, and because some content is not actively labeled with AI-generated/synthesized, it damages the trust of community users."
To this end, Xiaohongshu calls on users to proactively add AI-generated synthesis logos when posting images, text or video content generated and synthesized by AI to facilitate user identification. Noting the AI creation method will not detract from the value of the work, but will make communication more transparent.
Xiaohongshu said, "In accordance with the requirements of the "Measures for Labeling of Synthetic Content Generated by Artificial Intelligence", the platform will continue to strengthen the identification and detection capabilities of synthetic content generated by AI. If the creator does not actively mark the synthetic content generated by AI during the publishing process, the platform will add labels to the undeclared content based on the detection results. The platform will restrict the distribution of such synthetic content generated by AI that is not actively marked."
The platform will severely crack down on content that uses AI to produce false and counterfeit information, modify classics, promote bad values, and publish tutorials that instigate the removal of AI logos.
Xiaohongshu also said, “Next, the platform will continue to improve the identification of AI logos and AI fake content. We also welcome Xiaohongshu to actively participate in platform co-governance. If you find AI-generated harmful content, please report it to the platform as soon as possible through the report button.”
