The official YouTube application is officially launched on the Apple Vision Pro platform today. Users can now use this device to watch video content on a theater-level large screen and obtain a new experience combined with the visionOS immersive environment. This independent visionOS application supports all video formats on the YouTube platform, including standard videos, 180-degree videos, 360-degree videos, and YouTube Shorts short videos.

For the new Apple Vision Pro devices equipped with M5 chips, users can even watch YouTube videos in 8K resolution.

Through this official app, Apple Vision Pro users can access their YouTube subscriptions, playlists, viewing history and other personalized features. Prior to this, although users could watch YouTube videos on the Apple Vision Pro through the Safari browser, there was a lack of official exclusive applications. In 2024, a third-party YouTube application called "Juno" was launched on the visionOS platform, but it was quickly removed from the App Store because it was found to have violated YouTube's terms of service.

This official YouTube app is now available on the visionOS App Store and is compatible with Apple Vision Pro models equipped with M2 chips and M5 chips. The release of this application marks YouTube’s official support for Apple’s mixed reality headsets, filling a gap in the platform’s visionOS ecosystem.
