Anti-corruption documents released internally by Huawei show that:Deng, the former director of the Multimedia Technology Department of Terminal BG, was arrested by the Longgang District People's Procuratorate in accordance with the law on suspicion of accepting bribes by non-state staff.The notification shows,Joined Huawei in July 2007, and from July 2007 to December 2020, he successively served as engineer of the terminal overall technology hardware platform department, senior engineer of the terminal device and normalization department, senior engineer and architect of the terminal multimedia technology department, camera department manager, and director of the multimedia technology department.
On May 16, 2024, Honor Terminal Co., Ltd. issued an internal notice announcing that Deng would be dismissed from his position as president of the R&D Management Department due to his violation of the company's Business Code of Conduct (BCG). The notice did not disclose the specific details of the violation, but made it clear that he would be removed from the list.
Judicial investigation revealed that during his tenure, Deng was suspected of taking advantage of his position to seek improper benefits for suppliers and collect huge amounts of benefits from suppliers. On December 9, 2025, Deng was criminally detained on suspicion of accepting bribes by non-state staff; on January 15, 2026, Deng was arrested by the Longgang District People's Procuratorate in accordance with the law.
Public information shows that Deng has served as the legal representative and chairman of Shanghai Honor Smart Technology Development Co., Ltd. since May 2023. The company is wholly owned by Honor Terminal Co., Ltd. At the same time, he serves as the president of the R&D Management Department of Honor Terminal Co., Ltd., and is fully responsible for product research and development.
