According to Variety, Sony will restart the "Charlie's Angels" series again. It has been 7 years since the last remake of a movie that caused controversy. According to news, Sony is moving forward with a new "Charlie's Angels" movie reboot project. The film will be written by Pete Chiarelli ("Phone Call", "Fake Marriage", "Now Now 2").
Currently, the producer and creative lineup of the new project have not yet been announced.

It is reported that "Charlie's Angels" was originally a TV series that was broadcast from 1976 to 1981. The series stars Farrah Fawcett (Jill Monroe), Kate Jackson (Sabrina Duncan) and Jacqueline Smith (Kelly Garrett) and is produced by Ellen Spelling. The story revolves around three female investigators working for the "Townsend Detective Agency", and the owner of the detective agency, Charlie Townsend, has never revealed his true identity.
The first movie reboot of the series was launched in 2000 by Sony's Columbia Pictures, starring Drew Barrymore (Dylan Sanders), Cameron Diaz (Natalie Cook) and Lucy Liu (Alex Mundy). The global box office of the film reached 264.1 million U.S. dollars. After the success of the film, a sequel "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" was released in 2003.

In 2019, Sony released a movie version again, starring Kristen Stewart (Sabrina Wilson), Naomi Scott (Elena Hovlin) and Ella Balinska (Jane Cano), with Elizabeth Banks directing and playing Bosley. However, this version did not perform well both in terms of reputation and box office, and was considered a commercial failure.
