India is seeking to achieve its own manufacturing of advanced semiconductors within a few years, a move that highlights the country's ambition to expand its technology manufacturing industry. India’s federal minister of science and technology said that India’s goal is to achieve a leap from 28-nanometer chip manufacturing to 2-nanometer chip manufacturing. “This will be a steady and steady journey, and we will not act in a hurry.”

The Indian government may announce a new chip manufacturing initiative in the near future, which will include special new funds. The initiative will focus on the field of chip design and will involve at least 50 Indian deep technology companies. India's three domestic chip production bases are expected to start commercial mass production this year.

At present, India's semiconductor industry layout is still in its infancy. The world's most populous country has set up a US$10 billion special fund to support the development of the chip industry and promoted the establishment of many chip packaging, assembly and testing companies.

Micron Technology has built a factory in Gujarat, the hometown of Indian Prime Minister Modi; Tata Group, as a large Indian enterprise group, is also among the 10 local silicon wafer manufacturing companies in India.
