Manus, an AI startup acquired by Meta, recently launched a new feature called "Manus Agents", allowing users to use comprehensive AI reasoning and task execution capabilities directly in instant messaging applications such as Telegram.

The popularity of OpenClaw has proven that personal AI agents will be the next big trend in artificial intelligence. While OpenClaw is an exciting idea, it requires complex setup, regular maintenance, and has unpredictable costs. Even though it's popular among the geek community, it's difficult for the average consumer to set up and use easily. Manus Agents was born to solve this problem.
The process for users to create a Manus personal agent is very simple. Simply go to the Agents tab in the Manus workspace and click Connect, then scan the displayed QR code with your phone to start a conversation with an agent in a supported messaging app. The Manus team specifically emphasizes that this is not a lightweight chatbot add-on, but provides complete Manus capabilities, including reasoning, multi-step task execution and tool usage.
Features of Manus personal agents in instant messaging applications include: launch multi-step tasks and get results directly in the chat; send voice messages, photos and documents to the agent for transcription, image editing and other processing; set the agent's personality by choosing concise, structured or more conversational options; choose an AI model to support chat, you can choose Manus 1.6 Max for deep inference, or Manus 1.6 Lite for faster tasks.
Currently, Manus Agents are available on Telegram to Manus users of all subscription levels. Manus plans to bring Agents functionality to more messaging platforms, including Messenger, in the coming weeks.
A Manus co-founder revealed in a tweet that major updates will be rolled out in the next 30 days, including the ability to create dedicated agents and insert them into any group chat, upcoming support for new messaging apps such as WhatsApp, LINE, Slack and Discord, native Windows and Mac applications, the ability to let Manus operate a PC, and more.
