Recently, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was interviewed by Variety Magazine. He said that Ubisoft launched too many projects due to miscalculation of market demand after the epidemic. In the end, these demands could not be realized, resulting in the company having to cancel many projects.

Guillermotte said: "We predicted that the gaming industry would grow rapidly after the epidemic, and we expected that demand would continue to grow, but the actual situation has not fully materialized. For us, this has resulted in too many projects to start and an increase in complexity. Our priority now is to build a more focused and agile company, with a stronger team, with the best balance between senior experts and young talents, so that we can deliver the highest quality games."
When talking about the direct reason for the cancellation of the project, Guillermotte did not reply clearly: "In light of the company's transformation and the increasingly fierce market competition, we have evaluated the project portfolio and terminated six projects that no longer meet our improved quality standards and project portfolio focus...Making such decisions is never easy, but they allow us to focus on the projects with the most potential and ensure that each work reaches the quality that players have come to expect."

When talking about the industry's biggest concern, "Ubisoft has been turbulent in recent years, how to eliminate shareholder concerns," Guillermotte replied: "Our current priority is to promote transformation, develop our brands, and provide players with an excellent gaming experience. We will go all out to lay the foundation for development in the next few years... Our new creative studio model is changing the way we work, putting decision-making power, player relations and long-term franchise development directly into the hands of the game development team. We will return to our original intention - to create the best gaming experience for players."
