"Pokémon Pokopia", a life simulation game jointly developed by Nintendo and Koei Tecmo's Omega Force, unexpectedly leaked file capacity information ahead of its release next month. This work set in the Pokémon world will be launched on the Switch 2 platform on March 5, 2026, and pre-orders are now open.

As the release date approaches, some players have already obtained the Japanese version download card in advance. User Genki_JPN shared photos of the front and back of the download card packaging, confirming that the game’s file size on Switch 2 is 10GB. For a simulation business game that focuses on construction and customization, this capacity seems quite restrained, but it is undoubtedly good news for players.
For comparison, the capacity of "Pokémon Legend Z-A" on the same platform is 6.02GB, and "Pokémon Pokopia" is nearly twice that. The industry generally believes that this difference is due to the native development of this game for Switch 2 hardware. Higher picture performance and material accuracy often mean larger data volume. The data tracking website Deku Deals also lists a 10GB download capacity.

This game is positioned as a Pokémon life simulator in the style of "Animal Crossing". Players will play a variety of monsters that take on human form and create their own town through construction and production. The game contains illustrations of 300 Pokémon. Players can interact with neighbors, complete commissions, and gradually expand their homes.
"Pokémon Pokopia" is not only a Switch 2 exclusive, but also the first Nintendo first-party game to use a key card. With less than two weeks to go before its release, players will soon be able to experience this Pokémon version of the slow life simulator for themselves.
