At the 2026 Samsung Galaxy S26 series conference (Unpacked 2026), Samsung officially released a new generation of true wireless earphones, Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, which once again closely follow the Apple AirPods series in design, ecological linkage and pricing. The two new products continue the previous Galaxy Buds 3 series' appearance route that favors AirPods, but add a new flat metal surface to the outer headphone handle, while also improving battery life and active noise reduction capabilities.

In terms of hardware configuration, Galaxy Buds 4 is positioned as a regular model, using a single 11mm dynamic unit, and it is still an open design without silicone earplugs. In contrast, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are equipped with replaceable multi-size silicone ear tips and adopt a two-way sound structure-the low frequency is taken care of by the woofer, and the high frequency is output by the tweeter. The overall idea is consistent with the previous generation Buds 3 Pro. Samsung said that Buds 4 Pro uses a 5.5mm planar tweeter and a new 11mm "ultra-wide" woofer. Its effective diaphragm area is nearly 20% larger than the previous generation. On this basis, the distortion rate can be reduced by about 50%.

In terms of price, Samsung remains consistent with the previous generation this time: Galaxy Buds 4 has a suggested retail price of $179, and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro is $249. This price point is also in direct competition with Apple's AirPods 4 (with active noise cancellation version) and AirPods Pro 3. Both Galaxy Buds 4 series headphones will be available for pre-sale on February 25th and are scheduled to be officially released on March 11th. In terms of color matching, both are available in black and white. In addition, Buds 4 Pro will also be available in a “pink gold” version exclusively through online channels.

In terms of functional experience, Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro both support active noise reduction (ANC), ambient sound mode, adaptive equalization (Adaptive EQ) and adaptive noise reduction (Adaptive ANC). The professional version further enhances the adaptive noise reduction capability, aiming to provide stronger isolation effect for users in noisy environments. In terms of overall product strategy, Samsung continues to align with the AirPods series through design language and functional features, and at the same time uses the Galaxy ecosystem to achieve closer device linkage, trying to stabilize its high-end positioning in the Android camp in the true wireless headset market.
