Recently, industry insiders revealed that Unity Software, a world-renowned 3D game development engine provider, is evaluating various possibilities for its Chinese business, including potential sales plans.
According to people familiar with the matter, Unity Software has entrusted a team of professional consultants to help evaluate the interest of potential buyers of the Chinese business. As a core tool provider in the global game development field, Unity has a broad user base in the Chinese market, and its engine is widely used in mobile games, client games and virtual reality (VR) content development.
Unity's valuation of its Chinese business is expected to exceed US$1 billion (approximately RMB 6.889 billion), but the specific amount will depend on the buyer's offer and the progress of negotiations. People familiar with the matter also pointed out that relevant negotiations are still ongoing and a deal may not necessarily be reached. Representatives for Unity declined to comment.
