recently,Honda Motor has announced that it plans to import pure electric vehicles (EVs) produced in China for sale in the Japanese market, and is expected to officially launch them as early as spring 2026. This export model is based on Honda’s pure electric exclusive brand e:N models released in China in 2022.Adjusted according to Japanese market specifications, the first batch will be SUV models, produced by Honda's joint venture in China.
The E:N brand combines Honda's car-making experience with China's electrification and intelligent technology advantages. "e" stands for power and electric energy, and "N" means newness and evolution. Its core positioning is to reshape the fun of EV driving.

In April 2022, Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 will be launched, positioned as a pure electric SUV that is smart and fun to drive, priced at 175,000-218,000 yuan.
In June of the same year, GAC Honda e:NP1 (Ji Pai 1) was launched. It is GAC Honda’s first pure electric SUV and provides four configuration versions.
According to Honda China’s plan,10 e:N brand models will be launched by 2027, covering multiple market segments.
Honda's move is aimed at quickly replenishing the supply of pure electric models in Japan while improving the capacity utilization rate of Chinese factories.
At present, the penetration rate of Japan's electric vehicle market is low and the choice of models is limited. Chinese-made electric vehicles can quickly complete the product matrix.
From a global perspective, Honda is promoting a multi-regional collaborative electrification strategy. In addition to selling Chinese-made models back to Japan, it also plans to launch Honda's first global model of the 0 series in 2026, launch 30 pure electric models globally by 2030, and achieve an annual production of more than 2 million vehicles.
