BYD held a second-generation blade battery and flash charging technology conference this evening. At the meeting, BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu announced that BYD has officially released the second-generation blade battery, which will completely end industry problems such as slow charging of electric vehicles and long charging times at low temperatures. Wang Chuanfu said,It only takes 5 minutes to charge BYD's second-generation blade battery from 10% to 70%, which is as fast as refueling; it only takes 9 minutes to charge from 10% to 97%, setting the fastest charging speed in mass production in the world.

On-site measurement video shows that BYD Seal 07EV can be charged from 10% to 97%, with a full charging time of 8 minutes and 44 seconds.

Moreover, BYD's second-generation blade battery also solves the pain point of slow charging at low temperatures in one fell swoop. In the actual charging test in the extremely cold temperature of -20°C in Harbin, it only took 12 minutes to charge from 20% to 97%.

Including Yangwang U7, Seal 07, Hiace 06, Denza N9 and other BYD models in all price ranges, the fastest charging time is only 10 minutes and 29 seconds.

Wang Chuanfu further introduced that the reason why the battery is only charged to 97% and there is still 3% of power redundancy is because this part is specially reserved for braking kinetic energy recovery, which is more conducive to reducing the energy consumption of the vehicle.
