SAIC Volkswagen officially announced that on March 5, mass production of the ID. ERA 9X was officially launched at the Ningbo factory, and the first mass-produced model rolled off the production line simultaneously. Volkswagen ID. ERA 9X, as the first model in the ID. ERA series, marks the full launch of SAIC-Volkswagen's all-energy strategic layout and shoulders the mission of the joint venture Volkswagen to impact the high-end extended-range market.

In terms of technology, ID. ERA 9X is equipped with the industry-leading Smart Surface magic screen technology for the first time, which uses microporous diaphragm technology.When the screen is turned off, it is perfectly integrated with the interior materials to achieve the invisible beauty of "only the material is visible but not the screen"; when it is turned on, the picture is clear and transparent without texture interference.
The Smart Surface magic screen touch area on the second-row door panel integrates temperature, seat, and refrigerator adjustment. In addition to the clear display, the related touch screen also presents a 3D stereoscopic effect, which looks extremely sci-fi.

At the same time, the screen can display a blind-filling image. When the passenger presses the door-opening button,The screen displays real-time images of the outside and rear of the vehicle to provide visual reminders to avoid side and rear risks and prevent "open door killing" from the source.
The new car adopts the "generous, pure and tough" design language and integrates Eastern design philosophy. Two car colors, "Desert Gold" and "Wizard Green", have been announced.

In other aspects, the vehicle interior is designed with the concept of "integration of squares and circles" and is equipped with a 15.6-inch dual screen, a 21.4-inch rear ceiling-mounted screen and a 12.8-meter ring cabin ambient light. The car adopts a 6-seater layout and is fully equipped with a refrigerator, color TV, and large sofa.


As a large extended-range SUV, the length, width and height of the ID. ERA 9X are 5207mm x 1997mm x 1810mm, and the wheelbase is 3070mm.
In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with an EA211 engine as a range extender, with a maximum power of 105 kilowatts. At the same time, the car will provide three battery life versions according to different configurations:
They are respectively a rear single motor with a maximum power of 220 kW + 51.1kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, a rear single motor with a maximum power of 220 kW + 65.2kWh ternary lithium battery pack, and a dual-motor four-wheel drive with 160 kW front/220 kW rear + 65.2kWh ternary lithium battery pack.The maximum pure electric range under CLTC operating conditions will exceed 400km, and the comprehensive cruising range will exceed 1,000km+.
On the whole, Volkswagen ID. ERA 9X has undergone all-round upgrades and evolution in terms of body, interior design, technology and comfort configuration, etc., which is more in line with the needs of Chinese people and at the same time, it also comprehensively strengthens the product strength of the vehicle.
