Currently, my country's CR450 EMUs are undergoing operational assessment in preparation for passenger operation.Previously, the CR450 EMU has set the latest record of a single train speed of 453 kilometers per hour and a relative rendezvous speed of 896 kilometers per hour, making it the fastest in the world.

Liu Jiang, chairman of Sichuan Changhong Electronics Holding Group, introduced today that the emergency power supply of CR450 uses a lithium-ion battery pack developed by Changhong.

Since 2018, Changhong has been working on this project and has asked for improvements more than ten times, each time presenting a major challenge.

By the end of 2023, the weight of Changhong's battery system has dropped from the traditional 2,000 kilograms to 1,200 kilograms. However, at this time, the demand side proposed to reduce the weight by another 200 kilograms while maintaining the same performance indicators.

Faced with this extreme requirement, Changhong continued to dig into the details step by step, from system to structure to materials, design revisions and simulation tests time and time again. Finally, the weight was reduced from 1200 kg to 920 kg, which met the requirements of the complete vehicle and helped the CR450 reach new Chinese speeds.

It is reported that CR450 can reach today's high speeds, and weight reduction is the most important part of the design. Weight reduction and wind resistance are reduced through all-round detailed design of the body and interior.

In the end, the height of the train was reduced by 20 centimeters and the weight was reduced by 50 tons.

In the past five years, R&D personnel have continued to improve bit by bit with a drag reduction rate of 0.1% for the smallest unit, ultimately reducing the resistance of the entire train by 22%.

The CR450 EMU only takes 4 minutes and 40 seconds from starting to speeding up to 350 kilometers per hour, while the Fuxing EMU that was previously running at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour took 6 minutes and 20 seconds. This speed-up cycle is shortened by 100 seconds.
