Brazil's first lady, Rosangela Lula da Silva, is feuding with Musk over a recent hack of her account on social media platform X, after Musk refused to take responsibility. On Wednesday, local time, da Silva accused Musk of using sarcasm to downplay a misogynistic hack of her account last week.
"He downplayed a serious matter that not only affects me, but thousands of women who are on his platform every day," she said in a statement.
Brazil's social media-savvy first lady made national headlines on Dec. 11 when her account was compromised and a hacker posted obscene images and insulting text directed at the president on her profile, which has 1.2 million followers.
Earlier this week, da Silva threatened to sue the company, claiming it was too slow to respond to requests to freeze accounts, remove posts and help her regain access.
