Google officially announced the completion of its all-cash acquisition of Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz, with a transaction value of US$32 billion. This transaction is also the largest acquisition in Google's history. Wiz provides a security platform for mainstream cloud environments, capable of preventing and responding to various network security threats. According to information from Google, Wiz will be integrated into Google Cloud, but will retain its own brand and continue to provide security protection services to customers in all major cloud environments.

A person familiar with the matter revealed that Wiz’s annual recurring revenue (ARR) has exceeded US$1 billion in 2025, which also laid an important financial foundation for this high-priced acquisition. Google said in a statement that this acquisition is an important investment by Google Cloud in the field of cloud security and is designed to help organizations of all types build businesses quickly and securely on any cloud or artificial intelligence platform.
In the context of large enterprises increasingly adopting multi-cloud architecture, how to achieve unified management and security protection among different cloud environments such as Google Cloud, AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud is becoming a key battlefield for technology giants to compete for enterprise customers. Google's acquisition of Wiz is seen by the outside world as a clear signal to strengthen its multi-cloud security capabilities and win more enterprise customers. The two parties stated that they will jointly create a "unified security platform" to help enterprises respond to security threats more quickly.
With the rise of new trends such as so-called "vibe coding", the pace of development and deployment continues to accelerate, security vulnerabilities are increasing, and various types of attacks based on prompt words are becoming more common. Wiz has been strengthening its application of artificial intelligence technology, using AI to improve threat detection and investigation capabilities, and extending security protection to all levels of the cloud environment, including code, infrastructure, and runtime environments.
Google's acquisition talks with Wiz date back to 2024. At that time, Google offered to acquire Wiz for $23 billion, but the latter rejected it. Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport said at the time that he believed the company had more room to grow. In early 2025, the two parties restarted acquisition negotiations. In March of the same year, Google announced that it would acquire Wiz for US$32 billion to further strengthen its cloud security business layout.
The transaction subsequently entered the regulatory review process and was approved by U.S. and EU regulatory agencies. In November 2025, the U.S. government approved Google’s acquisition of Wiz; in February 2026, the European Union’s antitrust regulators also gave the green light to the transaction, ending the antitrust review of the transaction. After completing all regulatory procedures, Google officially announced the completion of the transaction in March 2026.
The industry generally believes that this acquisition is landmark in terms of amount and strategic significance. On the one hand, it consolidates Google's competitiveness in the cloud security and multi-cloud management market. On the other hand, it also highlights the key position of the cloud-native security platform in the new wave of AI and multi-cloud infrastructure.
