Framework is a manufacturer famous for its modular laptops. Its products allow users to replace various components such as motherboards, I/O interfaces and batteries. It has attracted much attention due to its high playability and freedom.Since December last year, as DRAM prices have continued to skyrocket, the prices of memory modules provided by Framework have been adjusted several times, and the frequency of adjustments has been accelerating. In order to reflect cost changes in a timely manner, Framework announced that it will maintain a monthly rhythm of updating pricing.

The latest adjustment shows,DDR5 SO-DIMM prices continue to increase, from the original 12 to 16 US dollars per GB capacity, to 13 to 18 US dollars per GB, depending on the single or kit specifications and total capacity - this means that the price range of 16GB memory is approximately between 208 and 288 US dollars.

Framework uses the weighted average cost method to manage inventory, so the increase in this round has narrowed compared with the previous one. At the same time, solid-state drives are also facing cost pressures, low-price stocks are gradually depleting, and some models need to be repriced to reflect current market changes.

Among SSDs that also use the weighted average cost method to manage inventory, the 2TB, 4TB and 8TB capacities of WD_Black SN850X NVMe SSD are still far below the average market price.

In addition to storage devices, some processors are also experiencing shortages and price increases, but Framework said it can still absorb these additional costs for the time being.
