At 11:25 local time on March 11, an Air India Express Boeing 737 Max8 passenger plane (registration number VT-BWQ) suffered a hard landing when landing at Phuket Airport in Thailand, causing damage to the nose landing gear and temporarily closing the runway. Reports said the passenger plane bounced once after a hard landing. When it touched the runway for the second time, the two front wheels fell off and the nose landing gear came into direct contact with the airport runway. After taxiing for several hundred meters, the aircraft then got stuck on the runway.

A preliminary inspection found that the nose landing gear of the plane was damaged, preventing the plane from leaving the runway immediately. There were 7 crew members, 131 passengers and 2 infants on board. All 133 passengers got off the plane safely and were sent to the waiting area. No one was injured.
Subsequently, maintenance engineers began to install tires on the passenger plane directly on the airport runway. After the installation is completed, the passenger aircraft is removed from the airport runway, but the entire aircraft needs to be fully inspected before flying again.

Other photos show that the fuselage above the front landing gear of the passenger plane involved has developed wrinkles. Because the aircraft cabin needs to be airtight, the difficulty of repairing the fuselage has also increased.
