As the Game Developers Conference (GDC 2026) was held in San Francisco, the official account of Microsoft's game development department "Microsoft Game Dev" released an update on March 11, accidentally showing the true appearance of the new Xbox development machine to the outside world.
In this post with the text "Xbox at GDC Sneak peek" (Xbox at GDC sneak peek), a total of three pictures were released. Judging from the on-site environment, these photos should have been taken at the ongoing GDC 2026 venue. The most eye-catching thing is undoubtedly the new color console entity: the words "XDK" (Xbox Developers Kit, Xbox Development Kit) are clearly printed on the fuselage, confirming that this is not a retail version for the public, but a development device for game developers.
The caption at the bottom of the post is also specifically marked "A black and white teaser of Xbox hardware", further confirming that this is a warm-up for the new hardware.
It is worth noting that although the new hardware has revealed its true identity, as of press time, Microsoft officials have not yet made it clear whether there is a direct connection between this development machine and the next-generation console codename "Project Helix" just announced on March 6.
