According to the latest support announcement issued by Microsoft, Microsoft has confirmed that after Windows 11 installs KB5032288 and KB5033375 updates, disconnection issues may occur when using the 802.1x authentication protocol to connect to enterprise, education, and public WiFi.

This problem is the reason why some universities earlier required teachers and students to temporarily uninstall the update, because after installing the update, teachers and students could not connect to the campus network normally, affecting work and study.

Microsoft today announced that it will solve this problem through KIR known issue rollback technology. The advantage of KIR technology is that it responds quickly and does not require the release of updates. After Microsoft directly deploys the KIR update program on the server, all affected Windows clients will automatically receive the update and roll back the relevant code to the previous state.

KIR technology usually covers all devices around the world within 24 hours, but if the user is in a hurry, he only needs to restart the system, and the KIR update will be forced to be received during the restart.

It should be reminded that KIR technology is not applicable to enterprise-hosted devices. If the user is using enterprise-hosted devices, the user needs to contact the IT administrator, and the device can be updated only after the IT administrator performs operations in the management center.

After IT administrators deploy this policy, they can solve the WiFi disconnection problem of enterprise-managed devices. This problem does not affect Windows 10 and does not affect Windows 11 home network users. If Windows 10 and home network users encounter disconnection problems, it may be caused by other issues.
