After inquiries by the webmaster, there is indeed a crowdsourcing rider named Tao Xjun who registered in early December 2025. He only completed 5 deliveries on December 9, and there has been no record of any delivery since then.
Meituan stated that the registration process for Meituan riders is convenient and does not require the submission of academic degree certificates. Therefore, the site and platform do not have the rider’s academic information and cannot verify the academic background claimed by the individual.
It is worth noting that in July last year, Meituan also responded to questions related to "Ding Mouzhao graduated from Tsinghua University and ran food delivery".
Last year, the short video account "Ding Xizhao Channel" released a number of videos wearing Meituan rider uniforms that attracted widespread attention: In the video, Ding Xizhao said that he was 39 years old and took the college entrance examination in 2004. He had a bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University, a dual master's degree from Peking University and Oxford, a PhD from Nanyang Technological University, and was a postdoctoral researcher at the National University of Singapore. He is currently delivering food... The contrast between the aura of many famous schools and the identity of a "rider" has triggered hot topics such as "Why does Ding Xizhao deliver food?"
Ding Xizhao said that he had placed orders on two overseas food delivery platforms and Meituan. “The order volume of the three platforms combined is tens of thousands of orders.” However, Meituan’s verification at the time found that Ding Xizhao had only delivered 34 orders in more than four months with Meituan, which was far from what he said. After Meituan responded to the true situation, Ding Xizhao deleted the video in his account wearing delivery clothes.
Meituan stated that it understands everyone’s concerns about employment topics, but once again calls on everyone to remember to remain rational and make prudent judgments regarding the use of highly educated labels to gain traffic.
