Recently, at the 2023 China Automobile Charging and Swapping Conference, four luxury brand car companies including Polestar, Volvo, Lotus, and Jaguar Land Rover jointly formed aChina Charging Alliance Flash Charging CommitteeOfficially established. As the first flash charging alliance for luxury car companies in China, the alliance will rapidly advance and build a high-quality and differentiated charging network.
It is reported that this conference is under the joint guidance of the Electric Power Department of the National Energy Administration, the Road Network Monitoring and Emergency Response Center of the Ministry of Transport, and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and is co-sponsored by the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, the Charging and Replacement Branch of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and the Fuyang District People's Government of Hangzhou.
The meeting focused on in-depth exchanges on charging and swapping infrastructure construction, charging piles in rural areas, high-quality charging services, battery swapping models, overseas exports, vehicle-network interaction, etc., and discussed strategies, methods and paths to build a high-quality development pattern for the industry.
Lotus said that it will open its own integrated optical storage and charging automatic flash charging station for alliance companies.It is equipped with a 480kW liquid-cooled charging host + 2 flash charging robots and 2 new-generation liquid-cooled charging terminals.
It is also equipped with 2 22kW smart AC piles, 2 household energy storage systems, 1 180kW integrated charging pile (double gun), 11-car hard-top photovoltaic carport, etc., using a total of 41 photovoltaic panels, with a total power generation of kWp (425Wp*41).
Lotus says it uses liquid cooling technology in its commercial charging solutions to make it easier and faster for EV drivers to charge their vehicles.
Officials stated that this fast charging solution has been deployed in China.It is expected to be launched in most European countries and the Middle East in the second quarter of 2024, specific arrangements will be announced in due course.
