LG officially announced,It will mass-produce the world's first laptop LCD panel equipped with Oxide 1Hz technology, supporting a variable refresh rate of 1–120Hz.Its core lies in intelligent detection of usage environment:Automatically reduces the refresh rate to 1Hz when the screen is static, and seamlessly switches to up to 120Hz when needed.

When performing static image-based tasks like checking emails, reading e-books, or research papers, the panel operates at a minimum refresh rate of 1Hz.

When watching movies, sports events or playing high-dynamic games, switch to high refresh rate mode, up to 120Hz. A higher refresh rate helps reduce flickering and presents smoother and clearer images, while maintaining a high refresh rate under static images will cause unnecessary power consumption.

LG's new panel can flexibly adjust the refresh rate based on screen activity to achieve high performance. This is due to its self-developed circuit algorithm and panel design technology, and the combination of new materials - the oxide material with the lowest leakage power in low refresh rate mode is applied to TFT, which significantly improves the battery life efficiency of the device. A single charge is 48% higher than the existing solution.

The battery life of notebook computers is the focus of consumers' attention. This technology will effectively improve convenience and freedom of use in actual use.

at present,LG has supplied this panel supporting Oxide 1Hz technology to Dell, which will be used in its high-end XPS series. At the same time, LG plans to extend this technology to OLED panels and is expected to achieve mass production in 2027.
