Today, the topic of Meituan deleting photos sparked widespread discussion on social platforms and quickly became a hot search list. Multiple Android phone users reported that the Meituan App was suspected of privately deleting photos and videos in the phone’s photo album without the user’s authorization.

According to clues provided by netizens, Meituan App will automatically perform deletion operations even without manual operation, resulting in the number of deleted photos ranging from hundreds to thousands.
Many users posted screenshots of interception prompts on their mobile phone systems, and these interception messages clearly pointed to Meituan. Some users said that the 504GB of photos and videos they had accumulated over the past six years were permanently lost, and the files were damaged and irrecoverable.

In response to this serious situation, Meituan customer service provided troubleshooting results, saying that this was caused by third-party plug-in conflicts under certain Android system versions.
Meituan explained that the plug-in conflict caused the App to display an exception prompt when clearing the cache, but this did not involve reading, storing or leaking the user's personal information. The relevant issues have been fixed as soon as possible.
For affected users, Meituan recommends going to the phone's Recycle Bin or recently deleted folder to try to retrieve files.
If the cleaned files do involve important personal information, Meituan said it will provide one-on-one special technical support to relevant users to help solve subsequent problems.
