Anduril and Palantir Technologies are collaborating to develop software for U.S. President Trump’s Golden Dome anti-missile system program, according to people familiar with the matter. The $185 billion Golden Dome missile defense program aims to build a space-based defense system capable of intercepting ballistic, cruise and hypersonic missiles, with hundreds of companies vying to develop the system.
Anduril and Palantir have shown a strong interest in participating in the Golden Dome project since its inception. Reports emerged last year that the two companies were working with Elon Musk's SpaceX on various parts of the project.
In addition, Anduril, along with several other companies, was awarded six small contracts for the Golden Dome project last November to build competing missile defense prototypes.
Aalyria Technologies, artificial intelligence startup Scale AI and software company Swoop Technologies are also involved in the project, the sources added.
Lockheed Martin, RTX and Northrop Grumman have previously joined the project as prime contractors.
The project leader said last week that the project budget has been increased by US$10 billion to US$185 billion to accelerate the development of key space-based capabilities.
