According to reports, the design of the new BMW i3 Touring may continue the overall style of the new i3 sedan, but with a new design at the rear of the body. The front face is expected to retain the one-piece closed glossy black panel and integrated headlights, and be equipped with an illuminated "double kidney" grille. At the rear of the car, the car may adopt a more compact rear window and a sportier rear line. The taillight design is expected to be consistent with the sedan version, using a slim horizontal light strip shape.

In terms of power and range, the new BMW i3 Touring is expected to offer single-motor and dual-motor versions. The top model is expected to be equipped with a high-energy battery pack with a capacity of nearly 110 kWh, and the cruising range under WLTP conditions is expected to reach 900 kilometers. The cruising range of the entry-level model will also reach about 600 kilometers.

In terms of configuration, the new i3 Touring is expected to share the cabin technology of the sedan version, including a 17-inch central touch screen, a panoramic instrument panel equipped with the iDrive X system, and may provide an automatic rear axle leveling function to facilitate loading. It is reported that the new car is scheduled to be put into production in July 2027, and the first batch of deliveries is expected to begin around November of the same year.
