The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said today that Tesla will recall 120,423 electric vehicles in the United States because the doors may be unlocked after a collision. The recall involves Model S and Model
NHTSA also said that Tesla has released an OTA software update to solve the problem through remote upgrade.
Just last week, Tesla just announced that it would recall more than 2 million of its electric vehicles, covering Model S, Model X, Model 3 and Model Y, mainly because of safety hazards in its driver assistance system Autopilot.
An NHTSA spokesman said that the investigation found that Tesla's driver assistance system Autopilot did not do enough to prevent user abuse and failed to ensure that drivers focused on the road. Autopilot has been involved in hundreds of crashes before.
