AMD has officially announced the price of its new flagship processor Ryzen 9 9950X3D2. The price of US$899 (approximately 6142 yuan) is US$200 higher than the US$699 price of 9950X3D, an increase of nearly 30%.The processor is expected to be launched on domestic shelves on April 21. Taking into account exchange rate and tax rate factors, the price of the National Bank version is very likely to reach the 7,199 yuan mark.

Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is AMD's first consumer-grade processor to adopt dual-stack 3D V-Cache technology, ending the asymmetric design of the previous Ryzen X3D series with only a single CCD equipped with a large cache.

Its two CCDs are each equipped with 64MB 3D cache, plus native 16MB L2 cache and 64MB L3 cache, the total cache capacity reaches an astonishing 208MB.

In terms of specifications, the processor is based on the Zen 5 architecture, with 16 cores and 32 threads, a base frequency of 4.3GHz, and a maximum acceleration frequency of 5.6GHz, which is slightly lower than the single-stack 9950X3D by 100MHz.

Since the dual cache module places higher requirements on power consumption, the default TDP is increased to 200W, setting a new high in power consumption for the AM5 platform.

In terms of performance, AMD executive Jack Huynh said that the 9950X3D2 has significantly improved in both gaming and productivity scenarios, and its overall performance is 5% to 13% higher than that of the 9950X3D.

Specifically, the V-Ray and Blender rendering test performance increased by 7%, the SPEC data science test increased by up to 13%, and the Chromium and Unreal Engine compilation tasks achieved a 5% to 8% speedup.

For enthusiasts who pursue ultimate performance, the appeal of the 208MB cache and dual-stack architecture is undoubted, but it is still unknown whether the nearly 30% price increase will be accepted by players.
