Recently, scientists from the University of California, Los Angeles, claimed that,For the first time, they observed a comet completely reversing its direction of rotation by farting. This comet, named 41P, was discovered in 1858. It orbits the sun every 5.4 years. When it passes the earth at perihelion, it can be clearly seen through telescopes.

When it passed by the Earth in 2017, the Hubble Telescope took a large number of images.

Scientists later discovered that the comet's rotation suddenly slowed down and then suddenly accelerated, increasing its speed several times.

Their analysis believes that when the comet is at perihelion, the increase in temperature will cause the internal ice, gas and dust to erupt from small cracks deep in its core, just like a "fart".

The huge thrust of the comet's "fart" is like a jet engine, first slowing down its rotation in one direction, and then accelerating its rotation in the opposite direction.

At present, it is not known whether this extreme comet reversal event was caused by multiple farts or a one-time event. But if the comet recirculates several perihelion points and ejects one after another, it is expected to self-destruct quickly.
