ZTO Express has officially entered the air cargo industry. ZTO Airlines’ first self-purchased all-cargo aircraft, ZTO Express, has successfully set sail. At the same time, it has opened the first intercontinental freight route from China to Europe. This aircraft is an Airbus A330P2F passenger-converted cargo aircraft, and it is also ZTO Airlines’ first wide-body all-cargo aircraft. Compared with ordinary cargo aircraft, wide-body aircraft have a larger cargo capacity and can directly undertake long-distance international freight tasks.
With the putting into use of this cargo plane, ZTO’s cross-border logistics capabilities have reached a new level. In the past, international express delivery mostly relied on third-party air transport capacity. Now with self-purchased wide-body cargo aircraft, timeliness, cost and stability can be better controlled, and the express delivery speed on European routes will be significantly accelerated.
At the launching ceremony, Airbus, Hungarian Airlines and many other partners were present to support the launch, marking ZTO Airlines’ formal transition from domestic cargo to the international market.
For the express delivery industry, having its own wide-body all-cargo aircraft is a key step for companies to enhance their global competitiveness. SF Express, YTO, etc. have already deployed air cargo. ZTO’s entry this time means that the air competition among leading domestic express delivery companies has further intensified.
In the future, with the investment of more all-cargo aircraft and the opening of international routes, consumers will also be able to enjoy faster and more stable services for overseas shopping and cross-border shipping.
