Insomniac Games has experienced one of the most serious leaks in the history of the gaming industry. More than 1.3 million stolen files were released earlier this week, resulting in the leak of massive information about Insomniac's released and future unreleased games. Many days after the leak occurred, Insomniac finally responded.
Officials stated that "Marvel's Wolverine" will continue as planned, but Insomniac also pointed out that the game is still in the early stages of development and will continue to evolve with the development process.
Insomniac statement:
Thank you for your outpouring of sympathy and unwavering support, we are deeply grateful.
We are saddened and angry about the recent malicious cyberattack against our studio and the emotional harm it has caused our development team. We have been supporting each other these past few days.
We understand that the stolen data included the personal information of our employees, former employees and independent contractors. It also includes early development details for Marvel's Wolverine for PS5. We are working to quickly determine which data was affected.
The experience was very disturbing for us.
We want everyone to have the intended amount of fun in the games we develop, just like our players deserve.
However, just like Logan...Insomniac is tough. "Marvel's Wolverine" is still on schedule. The game is still in early development and will definitely change a lot during development, like all of our plans.
We'll share official news about Marvel's Wolverine in due course. On behalf of everyone at Insomniac, thank you for your continued support during this difficult time.
