According to news on April 12, overseas technology media Mashable reported that the platform formerly known as Twitter is trying new strategies. The company plans to expand its user base with the launch of XChat. XChat is an independent messaging app that features end-to-end encryption, no ads, and does not track users.

In addition to X's original text messaging capabilities, XChat will also provide voice and video calling, file sending, group chat creation, and message editing/recalling. Judging from the screenshots released by X, the interface of XChat is very simple.
According to the official announcement, XChat is only open to users who already have X accounts, and is only available on iPhone and iPad, and will not enter the Android market.
Given that applications such as Signal and WhatsApp do not require additional account registration on other platforms, it remains to be seen whether XChat can attract enough users to reach the same scale.
