According to technology journalist Mark Gurman, Apple plans to release its first smart glasses in 2027, which may be officially unveiled at the end of this year. Gurman has been following the strategic progress of the company's smart glasses project, and now he has revealed more details about the product's appearance - he said that Apple is testing four design styles, and may launch some or all of them when it is finally launched.

According to reports, these designs include: large rectangular frames, slim rectangular frames (similar to the glasses worn by CEO Tim Cook), larger oval or round frames, and smaller oval or round frames. Apple is also considering a variety of colors, including black, navy blue and light brown. In some respects, the glasses are a step back from Apple's previous grand plans - Apple had planned to launch a variety of mixed reality and augmented reality devices, but this plan has suffered setbacks due to multiple product delays and lackluster market response to the Vision Pro.

At the same time, the glasses sound closer to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses. It won’t have a display, but it will allow users to take photos and videos (Apple may use oval camera lenses), answer calls, play music, and interact with the much-anticipated upgraded version of Siri.
