Microsoft has confirmed that it will officially shut down the Outlook Lite app on May 26. Since its launch in 2022, this app has been a lightweight version of regular Outlook. It is mainly targeted at Android device users with limited storage space and users in areas with poor network conditions. As early as last year, Microsoft had announced that the app would be removed from the Google Play Store in October 2025, and now the company has once again made it clear that the app functionality for existing users will also cease next month.

Microsoft's shutdown means that the life cycle of Outlook Lite will completely come to an end. Microsoft said in a support document for Outlook Lite users that in order to continue to enjoy secure and feature-rich email services, it is recommended that users switch to the Outlook Mobile app as soon as possible.
Microsoft pointed out that existing Outlook Lite users can continue to access data such as emails, calendar entries, and attachments in their previous accounts by logging into Outlook Mobile. During the migration process, users will be directed to the Google Play Store to download the standard Outlook app for a smooth transition.
