The first instance trial of the cases of Evergrande Group, Evergrande Real Estate and Xu Jiayin opened. Xu Jiayin expressed his guilt and repentance in court.

According to CCTV reports, from April 13 to 14, 2026, the Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court of Guangdong Province prosecuted the defendant unit Evergrande Group Co., Ltd. against the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Procuratorate for illegally absorbing public deposits, fund-raising fraud, illegally granting loans, fraudulently issuing securities, and illegally disclosing important information. The case of unit bribery, the defendant unit Evergrande Real Estate Group Co., Ltd. fraudulently issued securities, and the defendant Xu Jiayin illegally absorbed public deposits, committed fund-raising fraud, illegally granted loans, illegally used funds, fraudulently issued securities, illegally disclosed important information, embezzled positions, and unit bribery were heard in public.

During the trial, the court presided over the prosecution and defense parties to conduct court investigations and court debates around the alleged facts, and the defendant's unit and Xu Jiayin made final statements.Xu Jiayin confessed his guilt in court. The court will announce its verdict at a later date.

Some deputies to the National People's Congress, members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, relatives of the defendant, and representatives of fund-raising participants attended the trial.
