At the recent Cinema Con 2026, Sony Pictures announced that the filming of the "Legend of Zelda" live-action movie has been officially completed. The film is co-produced by Nintendo and Sony Pictures and is currently scheduled to be released globally on May 7, 2027.

Nintendo has previously confirmed that Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link and Beau Bragason will play Princess Zelda. After the film is released in theaters and home entertainment, it will be exclusively streamed on the Netflix platform.
The "Legend of Zelda" live-action movie will be officially announced in 2023 and will be directed by "Maze Runner" director Wes Ball. This is Nintendo's second major film and television adaptation after "Super Mario Bros. The Movie."

As of now, Nintendo has not announced more plot details or the complete cast of the film.
