According to news revealed by foreign media during CinemaCon (International Film Industry Conference), the "Resident Evil" movie directed by director Zach Craig received positive feedback from industry previews. The film showed a number of design directions that are loyal to the original game.

According to the news, the narrative structure of the film will strictly follow a linear progression method: following a single protagonist throughout the entire process, walking from point A to point B, without setting up a time jump. The film will restore the prop/resource management system (Inventory Management) in the game and create a claustrophobic and disturbing atmosphere.
In terms of visual language, the film's photography style intentionally imitates the camera angles and camera movements in the game, so as to be close to the player's familiar perspective experience. The script has also been described as "phenomenal".

From the perspective of story positioning, the film is connected to the main plot of the game, but it is not a direct remake of the plot of a certain game, but a spin-off side story under the main world view of "Resident Evil".
The feedback from the test screening at CinemaCom was described as "hot", and industry insiders believe that this may become the most successful adaptation attempt of the "Resident Evil" series in the field of live-action film and television.
Craig has previously publicly stated that he is a long-term player of the series of games, and warned that if the plot deviates from the original game, it may cause dissatisfaction among some fans. Currently, according to the latest exposed information, the film has chosen a direction close to game design in multiple core dimensions.

The film has a budget of US$80 million and is expected to be released on September 18 this year. The starring cast has not yet been officially announced.
