美国25岁黑人主播约翰尼·索马里(Johnny Somali)因在韩国引发公愤,一审被判6个月有期徒刑,并且由于被认为有潜逃风险,当庭被收押20天。

In November 2024, authorities in Seoul, South Korea, charged Johnny Somali with disturbing public order. The reason was that he uploaded a video during his stay in South Korea, which included kissing the Peace Statue and doing a "lap dance" to the statue. He has been banned from leaving the country since.
On Wednesday, a South Korean court found Johnny Somali guilty of multiple charges, including disrupting public order and disseminating sexual deepfakes, violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexually Violent Crimes.

According to Korean media reports, the court stated: "The defendant obtained profits through oil pipelines, repeatedly committed crimes against unspecified members of the public, and ignored Korean laws to spread relevant content."
The prosecutor had previously requested a three-year prison sentence and a fine of 150,000 won, but the judge ultimately issued a lighter sentence and pointed out that "the victim did not suffer serious damage" and required forced labor. According to the Korea Herald, this is also one of the important reasons for the lighter sentencing.
此外,约翰尼·索马里在刑满释放后,还被禁止在为未成年人及残障人士提供服务的机构中工作
The 25-year-old anchor, whose real name is Ismael Ramsey Khalid, is famous for posting provocative content and has been banned by multiple live broadcast platforms. He has also been accused of harassing locals during trips to Japan and Israel.

Johnny Somali is known as a troublemaker. He has caused trouble on public transportation, destroyed convenience store facilities, and broadcast obscene video content in public places, triggering widespread criticism from South Korean public opinion. Later, Korean Internet celebrities took the lead in hunting him down. They blocked people at the location where he was live broadcasting and beat him up.
After being accused by the prosecutor, Somalia didn't care at first and was even late to the court. However, after realizing that things were gradually going wrong, he began to restrain himself. At today's hearing, he pleaded that he wanted to return to the United States and his family. He admitted that he should bear responsibility for the crime, but hoped that the court would give him a chance to start over.
