Recently, data miners discovered a series of code clues related to vehicles in the animation system update file of "CS2", triggering a heated discussion in the player community about whether this classic shooting game will introduce driving vehicles.

It is reported that data miner Thour found entries involving vehicles and related mechanisms in the files of the AnimGraph 2 beta version (the updated animation system of CS2). These appear in the ai_basenpc.fgd file and include definitions for driver and passenger seats, vehicle entry points, and destructible components such as doors, windows, lights, wheels, hood, and windshield. This type of structure is typically used in systems that allow players or NPCs to interact with vehicles and their destructible parts.

The discovery was initially interpreted as Valve possibly preparing a new mode or large-scale event for CS2 that would include drivable vehicles. However, Thour later clarified after further analysis that these entries are likely not directly related to "CS2" itself. He pointed out that similar file entries have appeared in updates to other Valve projects (such as "Dota 2"), and may be related to a new project experiment within the company code-named "HLX".

Nonetheless, Thour emphasized that these clues do exist in the AnimGraph 2 branch files related to CS2, and may reflect engine functions shared across projects, and are also expected to be applied to other games based on the Source 2 engine in the future. He also stated that he was not confirming that vehicles would definitely be added to "CS2". He was merely recording the structures in the files truthfully and acknowledging the possibility of testing.
Overall, although this leak has triggered a lot of speculation about the introduction of vehicles in CS2, the leaker himself believes that this is more likely to be part of Valve's cross-project technology experiment rather than a new gameplay that is about to be confirmed for this shooting game. As of press time, the developer has not yet made any official response.

It is worth mentioning that Valve conducted a large-scale cleanup of "CS2" in March this year, banned nearly one million robot accounts, and made significant adjustments to the game's reinstallation system last month.
