Google recently announced that it will launch a 50% discount on YouTube Premium annual fees for users who meet certain conditions. This promotion is available to Google One subscribers who pay $10 per month and above, including the Google AI Pro plan.

Shimrit Ben-Yair, vice president and general manager in charge of Google AI subscription business, said on social media that from now on, new and old subscribers with a price range of more than $10 can purchase one year of YouTube Premium service at a 50% discount, which will package cloud storage and AI rights with ad-free videos, background playback, offline downloads and other functions to create the "ultimate Google experience." Currently, most Google One plans, except for the most premium Google AI Ultra, do not directly include a YouTube Premium subscription, but Google will offer discounted prices to Google One Premium and AI Pro users.
This promotion is open to users in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Germany, France, and Japan, and will last until April 29. Users can check if they qualify by visiting the offer page or in the Google app.
It should be noted that if users who are already subscribing to YouTube Premium want to take advantage of this offer, they need to cancel their existing subscription first to avoid repeated deductions. Subsequently, users need to re-activate the YouTube Premium add-on subscription through the Google One offer page or its app; Google provides detailed step-by-step instructions in the support document.
The sale comes shortly after another price increase for YouTube Premium, which now brings the price to $15.99 per month for the individual plan. With this 50% off annual offer, eligible users can save on YouTube Premium over the next 12 months while continuing to pay for their Google One subscription.
In addition, YouTube has recently been testing new ways to interact with creators, showing image posts and image carousels in the Shorts feed. The feature, which will be rolled out globally via the YouTube mobile app, will allow creators to add up to 10 images in a single carousel, overlaid with text captions and royalty-free music from the YouTube Audio Library.
