According to British news, shipping in the Strait of Hormuz came to a standstill again on the evening of the 18th. Earlier, radio communications warned that Iran's armed forces had resumed "strict management and control" of the strait. Many ships in the relevant waters heard the warning and it was confirmed.

British maritime security company Pioneer Technologies released a report on the same day, disclosing details of attacks on three ships in the waters near the Strait of Hormuz that day, involving an oil tanker, a cruise ship and a container ship. Two of the ships were clearly warned and opened fire by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and another container ship was hit by unidentified projectiles 25 nautical miles northeast of Oman, causing some containers to be damaged.
