Windows 11 and above are the future, but that doesn’t mean tech giants have stopped developing new features for Windows 10. The old version of the operating system lives on and is loved by the tech giants. Microsoft is keen to bring new Windows 11 features to Windows 10, and the Photos app is the latest version.

A new update is now available to everyone, replacing the legacy Photos app with a new version that first debuted on Windows 11. The new Photos app offers many features, including new ways to edit photos. The new Movie Strip feature lets you discover all your photos and videos in one window.

Another notable change is multi-view, a much-touted feature in the Photos app. As the name suggests, multi-view is a new way to compare photos or videos. Photos or videos open in the same window, but the content can be compared side by side.

The new Photos app sounds like a nice update and works better than the previous version, but some people may prefer the old Photos app from the Windows 10 era.

In threads on the Feedback Center or Microsoft Answers Forum, users believe that "Sharpness" and "Spot Repair" should return to the new Photos app. One user highlighted the lack of a "Sharpness" slider in the new Photos app. Some users felt that the "sharpness" of the old Photos app was similar to the functionality of well-known software like Photoshop.

Several other users also shared how much they rely on the Clarity feature. One user explained that they always use it to make unclear digital photos look clear and legible. Another user mentioned that they don't need fancy photo effects, they just want their photos to look sharp.

All in all, while Microsoft may think they are improving the Photos app, many users feel differently and want functionality from older versions restored.
